This is a very personal trail for us, because in Mourne there is our home, Varvara’s kafenion, which we visit, Giannis “kazani”, where we buy raki, many of our friends and relatives. At the same time, a very scenic trail leads straight from our house, ideal if you want to enjoy the peace, quiet and nature. You probably will not meet any people on the route, maybe some shepherds or farmers. During the walk, we will be accompanied by views of the impressive Frati gorge, the villages on the slopes of the surrounding hills, in the distance the Koroupa peak and the contour of White Mountains on the horizon. Our trail will lead among oaks, plane trees, olive grooves and vineyards around the Frati River valley. Along the way, we will visit XIII and XIV century Byzantine churches with preserved unique frescoes. Kafenions along the way and rural fountains with drinking water will give us the opportunity to relax.
